Free Workouts: 3 Ways to Stay Active At-Home

  • Yoga with Adriene: Adriene is a renown Yoga instructor and YouTube sensation. Known for her gentle and friendly presence, she makes Yoga accessible, easy, and enjoyable for all skills levels. You can dive right into her YouTube channel to find videos, or you can visit her website and get started with a specific 30-day program. Note: some courses on her website will have a fee, but the majority of her videos (over 500) are free to watch. 

  • The 7-Minute Workout: The 7-minute workout requires only a wall and chair to be completed. (You can add hand weights to up the intensity). Start by reading this article about the workout in the New York Times. If you're ready to try it, you can simply use a smart phone timer, or download a dedicated app that will prompt you with each exercise. 

  • Couch to 5K: Take advantage of the spring weather by walking/running. Like its name says, Couch to 5K is a program designed to prepare you for a 5K walk/run by starting at scratch. The app will tell you how far to walk/run each day, and an average week consists of 3-4 workouts of about 30 minutes each. There are many sites that will outline a similar couch to 5k approach if you prefer to track your own progress without using an app.
