Celebrate the Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is usually raced on the first Saturday in May. The 2020 thoroughbred horse race has been postponed until September 5 due to the coronavirus pandemic. You can still dress in your finery, wear a large elaborate hat, and drink a mint julep or virgin mint julep and celebrate the "Run for the Roses" with your housemates at home on May 2. From 2 – 5 p.m. NBC will show the 2015 Kentucky Derby followed by a virtual Kentucky Derby featuring the 13 Triple Crown winners.

To get in the spirit of the Derby watch Seabiscuit: America's Legendary Racehorse or the travel film, Kentucky, to learn what it's like to train and prepare thoroughbreds for racing at Churchill Downs on Hoopla. Read about horse racing on Hoopla.
