Talk to a librarian

Don’t use Google. Ask us. We can show you where to get the best information. Come to the desk on the second floor. Call the library at 630/887-8760—and ask to talk to a librarian. Or, use the chat feature on our website—just look for the blue icon on the side of the page. You also can use us online. We have the best search engines; something called databases. Databases pull together dependable information that your teachers will approve. To use these, you need to have your library card.

Use the library online

Can’t come to the library? No problem. You can check out books, movies, music, and magazines from home with your library card.

Print and use wifi

Need to print or scan something? You can ask your parents to use our remote printing service if you want to print from home to the library. We have printers and scanners. We also have computers you can use on the second floor in the Mid-Kid area. If you have your phone, tablet, or computer with you in the library, you can connect to our fast wi-fi.

Study and meet at the library

Are you working on a group project and need someplace to meet? Or, do you need a quiet space to do homework? We have tables around the library and rooms that you can use. If you want a room, you need to use an IPPL card to get one.

Make your own flashcards

Need flashcards to learn math facts or spelling words? Find free printables and curriculum support for lessons on a variety of topics for grades PreK-8 using Scholastic Teachables. If you're accessing remotely, you'll need your library card handy.
